EP Release: BIRDS OF PARADISE

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA (January 29, 2018) – City of Union announces the January 29, 2018
release of the EP Birds of Paradise. City of Union is solo artist Matthew Campbell, a twenty something-
year old from Missouri who has reinvented himself as a young man living in New Zealand. Currently based
in Melbourne, Australia, City of Union has established himself as an artist to watch with three previously
released singles. Birds of Paradise is Campbell’s first EP release and has already garnered attention from its
premiere in Atwood Magazine, being hailed as “bold, dramatic and bashful, heartfelt and intimate, euphoric
and brooding. It wears many colors, each as exciting as the last.” – Mitch Mosk, Atwood Magazine

“The many facets of [City of Union] are as plentiful as the blades on a swiss army knife…. Call him a solo artist in the vein of Beck, and also a performer whose honest feel pulls on your heart strings, as if he were Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam.” – Miguel Costa, Music Connection

Some of City of Union’s most notable achievements to date include various touring in the USA, New
Zealand, and Australia; a plethora of glowing features on international tastemakers including Music
Connection and Atwood Magazine; and winning the Parachute Music Grant 2017.
